Youth Workshops

Unity Radio  Youth Workshops are programmed and delivered in Manchester by artists from the station and cover all aspects of modern street culture – from DJ-ing a wide range of underground music through to MC-ing and vocal performance across to street art and dance. They cater for a range of age groups and the workshops take place wherever the artists can set up.

This summer also provided a number of creative industry workshop programmes that provided an opportunity for young facilitators to take skills developed in the community workshop sessions into the professional field, working with Cornerhouse, Manchester’s art house, on a four month project that ended with a two week programme as part of Unity Radio’s contribution to ArtRadio R.S.L on 106.5FM and the LiveWire youth takeover.

For 2008 Unity Radio will be expanding it’s workshop programme to develop radio production courses that will allow local services to benefit from our broadcast platform. Expanding the content to include management sessions and other aspects of transferrable skills that will prove beneficial to young people in a wide variety of applications.If you’re a youth agency or interested in working with Unity Radio contact the office on workshops@unityradio.co.uk and we’ll send you out some details.
